Design and implementation of a new queue scheduling
algorithm in diffserv networks
In this paper the method of modified priority based queuing is investigated. The benchmarking is conducted using the develop test bed. The test bed consists of the set of virtual routers and generators. Using MPQ in a router allows smoothing the delay variation and guarantee that the packets of real-time flow will sustain the delay that is less than critical. This is possible due to prioritized processing of such packets. Moreover, MPQ helps to optimize the utilization of buffer resource, as far as the buffer can store low-priority packets on the behalf of immediate processing of the high priority packets.
